THiNK SQUARE!
THiNK SQUARE! brings together the work of fifty fine art printmakers from Tiger Lily Press and Northern Kentucky Printmakers, two organizations dedicated to the tradition of fine art printmaking.
Northern Kentucky Printmakers is a group of alumni and faculty that began as Northern Kentucky University Print Club. The group has been showing together for the last twenty-five years. (Our first show was at the Fort Thomas gallery where David Dalton, owner of the Think Shop and Red Hot Productions, mounted our first exhibitions, and later, to this site, previously called Gallery Zaum.)
Tiger Lily Press is a fine art printmaking studio located in Cincinnati and has been a printmaking collaborative for the last forty years. It is located in the Dunham Recreation area and is a nonprofit organization offering studio space and classes in printmaking disciplines. This is the first show to combine the talents of both groups in an exhibition of 5”x5” hand-pulled prints.
We dedicate this show to the memory of our dear friend and fellow printmaker, Margaret Lester, who was a student in the NKU Printmaking department and a dedicated Print Club participant for 25 years. Margaret was an inspiration to all of us with her talent, dedication and hard work, always being the first to complete work for our yearly shows. She attended most all of our workshops, never missed a class, and set a high standard for students who were many years her junior. Margaret was a strong and quiet presence in the print room and we miss her dearly.
